Being A Christian

Our lives as Christians are always in observance of the world. How we behave and carry out our dealings.  People can discern if we are only acting as Christians or we are being real Christians. To act as Christians has temporal bearing on the lives of people around us. Moreover, since our “acting” is not being sustained by God soon it’s going to fade away like a bubble dissipating in the sky. On the other hand, “being” true Christians, we have genuine passion in bringing out in us the depth of the love of God.  Our change is internal manifesting without any effort of making up a front, in our behavior and become integral part of our character. Being Christians are catalysts in accomplishment of salvation in the world. We are the light and salt of the world. “You are the salt of the earth, “- Matt 5:13; “You are the light of the world. “- Matt 5:14 That is why, it is our mandate to live the mission Christ has ordained us that moment of our salvation. That is to win souls for the Kingdom of God.

We need to make a regular check up on ourselves, whether we are only acting or being authentic Christians. We can determine it by obeying the greatest commandment of Christ, which is love God with all your heart and soul  - “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.” Matt 22:37 ; and by loving our neighbors (Matt 22:39)  regardless of who they are and by being more considerate with our family, showing them the same love that we can easily display (with intent to please)  before the eyes of other people whom we want to get recognition (but with genuine compassion). Because when we are able to obey these two commandments, effortlessly the passion of Christ shall manifest in us naturally radiating from within.
