His words will renew our strength.

The Word that gives life
    was from the beginning,
and this is the one
    our message is about.
Our ears have heard,
    our own eyes have seen,
and our hands touched
    this Word.

1 John 1

The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you--they are full of the Spirit and life.

John 6:63

...your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. "But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. "So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Matthew 6:32-34

Moreover, I will give you what you have not asked for--both wealth and honor--so that in your lifetime you will have no equal among kings.

1 Kings 3:13

The LORD does not let the righteous go hungry, but he thwarts the craving of the wicked.

Proverbs 10:3

Whoever leads the upright along an evil path will fall into their own trap, but the blameless will receive a good inheritance.

Proverbs 28:10

Our Master defines us.

Don't you know that when you offer yourselves to someone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one you obey--whether you are slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which leads to righteousness?

Romans 6:16

We become what we yield to. We assume the likeness of who we believe in. Our conviction of what we follow directs our character.

Call upon His name in all circumstances; only in Him we can find help.

18If I regard wickedness in my heart, The Lord will not hear; 19But certainly God has heard; He has given heed to the voice of my prayer. 20Blessed be God, Who has not turned away my prayer Nor His lovingkindness from me.

Psalm 66:18-19

God's mercy is greater than our sin, His loving kindness overtakes our weakness. He will listen to our cry because His grace abounds.

Fix our thoughts on the Lord, He will keep us in His perfect peace.

And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:7

2"Open the gates, that the righteous nation may enter, The one that remains faithful. 3"The steadfast of mind You will keep in perfect peace, Because he trusts in You. 4"Trust in the LORD forever, For in GOD the LORD, we have an everlasting Rock.…

Isaiah 26:2-3

God surrounds His people.

Surely, LORD, you bless the righteous; you surround them with your favor as with a shield.

Psalm 5:12

Let your unfailing love surround us, LORD, for our hope is in you alone.

Psalm 33:22

You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance.

Many are the woes of the wicked, but the LORD's unfailing love surrounds the one who trusts in him.

How we handle our emotion will show the best or worst in us.

Ecclesiastes 7:8-10

8The end of a matter is better than its beginning; Patience of spirit is better than haughtiness of spirit. 9Do not be eager in your heart to be angry, For anger resides in the bosom of fools. 10Do not say, "Why is it that the former days were better than these?" For it is not from wisdom that you ask about this.…

James 1:19
My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry,
Proverbs 14:17
A quick-tempered person does foolish things, and the one who devises evil schemes is hated.
Proverbs 14:29
Whoever is patient has great understanding, but one who is quick-tempered displays folly.

Life and death is in the power of our tongue.

27A worthless man digs up evil, While his words are like scorching fire. 28A perverse man spreads strife, And a slanderer separates intimate friends. 29A man of violence entices his neighbor And leads him in a way that is not good.…

Proverbs 16:27-29

...who plots evil with deceit in his heart-- he always stirs up conflict.

Proverbs 6:14

Proverbs 18:21

We may avoid the spread of fire by not adding fuel to it.

Only in Jesus, we can truly find rest.

Matthew 11:27-29

27"All things have been handed over to Me by My Father; and no one knows the Son except the Father; nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and anyone to whom the Son wills to reveal Him. 28"Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.29"Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS.…

Psalm 62:5

5My soul, wait in silence for God only, For my hope is from Him. 6He only is my rock and my salvation, My stronghold; I shall not be shaken.

When we come to God as a Father, we must remember that he is Lord of heaven and earth, which obliges us to come to him with reverence as to the sovereign Lord of all; yet with confidence, as one able to defend us from evil, and to supply us with all good.

-Matthew Henry

I draw my strength from You alone, my LORD, when my heart gets tired of striving and my hope seems losing, I refresh my zeal with your word, for in You, hope never fades, in You, my life has a sure direction, in You, I can find peace and rest for my soul. Amen.

Pride brings a person low, but the lowly in spirit gain honor.

Dishonest scales are detestable to the Lord,
but an accurate weight is His delight.
When pride comes, disgrace follows,
but with humility comes wisdom.
The integrity of the upright guides them,
but the perversity of the treacherous destroys them.
Wealth is not profitable on a day of wrath,
but righteousness rescues from death.
The righteousness of the blameless clears his path,
but the wicked person will fall because of his wickedness.
The righteousness of the upright rescues them,
but the treacherous are trapped by their own desires.
When the wicked man dies,
his expectation comes to nothing,
and hope placed in wealth vanishes.
The righteous one is rescued from trouble;
in his place, the wicked one goes in.
With his mouth the ungodly destroys his neighbor,
but through knowledge the righteous are rescued.
When the righteous thrive, a city rejoices,
and when the wicked die, there is joyful shouting.
A city is built up by the blessing of the upright,
but it is torn down by the mouth of the wicked.
Whoever shows contempt for his neighbor lacks sense,
but a man with understanding keeps silent.
A gossip goes around revealing a secret,
but a trustworthy person keeps a confidence.
Without guidance, people fall,
but with many counselors there is deliverance.
If someone puts up security for a stranger,
he will suffer for it,
but the one who hates such agreements is protected.
A gracious woman gains honor,
but violent men gain only riches.
A kind man benefits himself,
but a cruel man brings disaster on himself.
The wicked man earns an empty wage,
but the one who sows righteousness, a true reward.
Genuine righteousness leads to life,
but pursuing evil leads to death.
Those with twisted minds are detestable to the Lord,
but those with blameless conduct are His delight.
Be assured that the wicked
will not go unpunished,
but the offspring of the righteous will escape.
A beautiful woman who rejects good sense
is like a gold ring in a pig’s snout.
The desire of the righteous turns out well,
but the hope of the wicked leads to wrath.
One person gives freely,
yet gains more;
another withholds what is right,
only to become poor.
A generous person will be enriched,
and the one who gives a drink of water
will receive water.
People will curse anyone who hoards grain,
but a blessing will come to the one who sells it.
The one who searches for what is good finds favor,
but if someone looks for trouble, it will come to him.
Anyone trusting in his riches will fall,
but the righteous will flourish like foliage.
The one who brings ruin on his household
will inherit the wind,
and a fool will be a slave
to someone whose heart is wise.
The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life,
but violence takes lives.
If the righteous will be repaid on earth,
how much more the wicked and sinful.

Proverbs 11

When we start being selfless, we don't lose... we gain.

Never let yourself think that you are wiser than you are...

My child, don't forget what I teach you. Always remember what I tell you to do. My teaching will give you a long and prosperous life. Never let go of loyalty and faithfulness. Tie them around your neck; write them on your heart. If you do this, both God and people will be pleased with you. Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Never rely on what you think you know. Remember the Lord in everything you do, and he will show you the right way. Never let yourself think that you are wiser than you are; simply obey the Lord and refuse to do wrong. If you do, it will be like good medicine, healing your wounds and easing your pains. Honor the Lord by making him an offering from the best of all that your land produces. If you do, your barns will be filled with grain, and you will have too much wine to store it all. My child, when the Lord corrects you, pay close attention and take it as a warning. The Lord corrects those he loves, as parents correct a child of whom they are proud. My child, hold on to your wisdom and insight. Never let them get away from you. They will provide you with life—a pleasant and happy life. You can go safely on your way and never even stumble. You will not be afraid when you go to bed, and you will sleep soundly through the night. You will not have to worry about sudden disasters, such as come on the wicked like a storm. The Lord will keep you safe. He will not let you fall into a trap. Whenever you possibly can, do good to those who need it. Never tell your neighbors to wait until tomorrow if you can help them now. Don't plan anything that will hurt your neighbors; they live beside you, trusting you. Don't argue with others for no reason when they have never done you any harm. because the Lord hates people who do evil, but he takes righteous people into his confidence. The Lord puts a curse on the homes of the wicked, but blesses the homes of the righteous. He has no use for conceited people, but shows favor to those who are humble. Wise people will gain an honorable reputation, but stupid people will only add to their own disgrace.

The kind of life we live is determined by how intent we listen to His word.

To have knowledge, you must first have reverence for the Lord. Stupid people have no respect for wisdom and refuse to learn. My child, pay attention to what your father and mother tell you. Their teaching will improve your character as a handsome turban or a necklace improves your appearance. My child, when sinners tempt you, don't give in. Suppose they say, “Come on; let's find someone to kill! Let's attack some innocent people for the fun of it! They may be alive and well when we find them, but they'll be dead when we're through with them! We'll find all kinds of riches and fill our houses with loot! Come and join us, and we'll all share what we steal.” My child, don't go with people like that. Stay away from them. They can't wait to do something bad. They're always ready to kill. It does no good to spread a net when the bird you want to catch is watching, but people like that are setting a trap for themselves, a trap in which they will die. Robbery always claims the life of the robber—this is what happens to anyone who lives by violence.

We allow God to perfect us, when we stay humble but firm in faith.

...to be shepherds of the flock that God gave you and to take care of it willingly, as God wants you to, and not unwillingly. Do your work, not for mere pay, but from a real desire to serve. Do not try to rule over those who have been put in your care, but be examples to the flock. And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the glorious crown which will never lose its brightness. In the same way you younger people must submit yourselves to your elders. And all of you must put on the apron of humility, to serve one another; for the scripture says, “God resists the proud, but shows favor to the humble.” Humble yourselves, then, under God's mighty hand, so that he will lift you up in his own good time. Leave all your worries with him, because he cares for you. Be alert, be on watch! Your enemy, the Devil, roams around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. Be firm in your faith and resist him, because you know that other believers in all the world are going through the same kind of sufferings. But after you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who calls you to share his eternal glory in union with Christ, will himself perfect you and give you firmness, strength, and a sure foundation. To him be the power forever! Amen.

We are success bound, when guided and protected by the Lord.

Happy are those who reject the advice of evil people, who do not follow the example of sinners or join those who have no use for God. Instead, they find joy in obeying the Law of the Lord, and they study it day and night. They are like trees that grow beside a stream, that bear fruit at the right time, and whose leaves do not dry up. They succeed in everything they do. But evil people are not like this at all; they are like straw that the wind blows away. Sinners will be condemned by God and kept apart from God's own people. The righteous are guided and protected by the Lord, but the evil are on the way to their doom.

Everything you do or say, then, should be done in the name of the Lord Jesus...

You have been raised to life with Christ, so set your hearts on the things that are in heaven, where Christ sits on his throne at the right side of God. Keep your minds fixed on things there, not on things here on earth. For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. Your real life is Christ and when he appears, then you too will appear with him and share his glory! You are the people of God; he loved you and chose you for his own. So then, you must clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Be tolerant with one another and forgive one another whenever any of you has a complaint against someone else. You must forgive one another just as the Lord has forgiven you. And to all these qualities add love, which binds all things together in perfect unity. The peace that Christ gives is to guide you in the decisions you make; for it is to this peace that God has called you together in the one body. And be thankful. Christ's message in all its richness must live in your hearts. Teach and instruct one another with all wisdom. Sing psalms, hymns, and sacred songs; sing to God with thanksgiving in your hearts. Everything you do or say, then, should be done in the name of the Lord Jesus, as you give thanks through him to God the Father...  And all wrongdoers will be repaid for the wrong things they do, because God judges everyone by the same standard.

With Him in our hearts, no matter how hard our lives may be, how difficult some people to get along with, wherever we may be, we will always see ourselves staying on top of any situation. His hope will strengthen and enable us to serve, to share and to give, glorifying Him in the midst of troubles, and ending up in victory.

God's blessing is for our strength and protection

All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ. - (Ephesians 1:3)

"As a believer, you have everything you need to live the Christian life. It isn’t about whether you feel that way; it’s about the reality of what the Bible says. God has given you what you need....

The blessings are there. You can live a blessed life—not a carefree life, a problem-free life, or even an easy life. But you can live a blessed life. Blessings don’t mean that everything will go perfectly in our lives. But it’s a matter of knowing that God goes with us through life, no matter what."

Greg Laurie

God intends to bless us for our optimum benefit -- to heal... and meet what we need to equip and sustain us, to strengthen us  against the storms of our lives, not merely for happiness; for happiness is constant when we are able to overcome hardships, and stay on top of the enemy's wit.

Persevere to Endure

James 1:2-4New American Standard Bible (NASB)

Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.

Any time God allows trials to enter your life, He has a purpose for them. He wants you to squeeze out every ounce of spiritual growth instead of letting difficulties force you into despair and discouragement. If you’ll just respond in the right manner, the trial that looks as if it could destroy you becomes an instrument of blessing.

Dr. Charles F. Stanley

It may be difficult to understand why a test comes our way, but we must never forget that the test is accomplishing refining and purification.

Billy Graham

Trials may be our frequent companions, a lot of times we may feel exhausted due to the wear and tear these may have pained us with.  Suffering will always wound us, but  they can never break us, when we hold on to the Lord and yield on Him for strength and wisdom; for in the end after persevering to stay right with God, we will shine His glory.
